Death of Miss Carson Sparked City Council Meeting Tonight
Daisy Carson, a model young lady from the city who had been ill with typhoid fever, has died after a relapse. Her brother Will Carson also died recently of the same disease. Funeral services were held this afternoon at Wyman. The note of sympathy from many friends follows the bereavement.

Weather Forecast for Iowa and Agricultural Shipments
The forecast calls for generally fair weather in Iowa tonight and Tuesday with cold conditions in the west. McCleery and Berdo sent a load of cattle and a load of hogs to Chicago. Hull and Brown shipped a load of horses to St. Louis over the Narrow Gauge. Will Cherry sent a cattle load via the B and N W to Chicago.

At the regular meeting of Washington Lodge A F and A M the following officers were elected for the coming year M P Miller W M Eugene Anderson S W A R Miller J W A H Wallace treasurer C O Brown secretary. Roy Davis and workmen began work today on a new press room for the JOURNAL office. It will be added to the rear of the building and will be 20 by 28 feet brick. Mrs Everson, owner of the building, is remodeling the composing room and fixing a new office.

A night report from St. Louis notes a theft where thieves arrived by 7 and took all money by 10, leaving property losses and local concern. No suspects named. Police urged residents to secure valuables and report any related clues.
Daring daylight robbery foiled after bogus detective ruse
Two visitors from Washington, Carson and Liebrand, report a bold street robbery in St. Louis. A fake government detective led them to an alley where three men relieved them of 28 dollars and gold ware before they were ordered to flee. Police hunt for Charley Watkins, a known counterfeiter.
