Des Moines column reports Gov elect Robert D Blue and family will use a furnished west end Des Moines home from now until May 1 to cover the period before permanent arrangements are made. Mrs Blue and children Barbara 16 and Donald 14 are named in the negotiations.
The body of Frankie Pesek, 8, recovered Monday afternoon from the Cedar River by police in Cedar Rapids. He was a playmate of Raymond Clarenes Nippe, 7, and LeRoy Joseph Nippe, 6, the Nippe brothers who drowned Sunday while sledding with him.
Iowa poultrymen face marketing five million hens by June 1 to meet state production goals amid a 16 percent cut. Farm economist Francis Kutish warns on reduced output while A D Oderkirk notes egg prices must hold at about 90 percent of parity. A Chicago meeting on egg parity is set for December 12.
Baylor Cooksey 78 of Moulton died in a hospital after a bull gored him in a farm feeding lot near Burlington. The bull broke its rope and attacked Cooksey, inflicting chest injuries and punctured lungs. Burial will be at Hilltown Cemetery.
Everett Prestein Jr., a Tripoli farmer, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of his 4 year old step daughter Jeanne Pipho after injury at the Prestein home on March 17. He was sentenced to eight years in the state penitentiary and paroled to the Town board of parole. The case included extensive medical evidence of bruises abrasions and a cerebral hemorrhage cited as the cause of death.
Des Moines federal judge Charles A. Dewey mused on why bankers seem busier than others after Clyde Roecholz of Adair, a banker, sought jury excusal citing work. He cited the Sixth War Loan drive and noted bankers often serve on draft boards, remarking that in five years no banker has sat on a jury.

He lived with his grandmother Mrs May Shockley prior to service. His wife lives at 814 North Sixth avenue with her mother Mrs Clyde Kelley.

Freed Europe faces severe food and clothing shortages with 25 percent of American intake, especially in Poland, the Netherlands, and Italy, risking famine and exposure unless UN relief swings the balance.
