Chicago December 2 1930 John P Tiernan former Notre Dame law professor not committed to Cook County psychopathic hospital as sister-in-law acts on commitment papers. He and his first wife and three children remain missing after the family left upon learning of the order.
In Hampton Iowa Blanche Hawn Rash Brimmer Tiernan, who wed Professor John P. Tiernan of South Bend Indiana last Saturday, left Hansell Iowa at 12 30 this morning with two men and one woman for an unknown destination. The party′s companions include a woman calling one man Doctor and possibly Rev Charles Hawn her foster father. A report says they planned to go to Marshalltown but could not be confirmed. In Chicago the professor had not been taken into custody nor admitted for examination at a psychopathic hospital.
William Letts, chairman of the Mason City Odd Fellows Temple Association board, testified before Davenport grand jury in the Clarence Robison case. Robison is accused of fleecing widow Jennie Palmer of 6000 by posing as a stockholder in the Mason City temple association. The testimony aimed to show Robison owned no stock and obtained the money by misrepresentation.

Nicholas Gonner publisher of the Dubuque American Tribune and his daughter Hanna Gonner, along with John Schroeder of Dubuque, drowned when their car left a bridge near South Wayne Wisconsin. The news came to Dubuque authorities shortly before noon.
