A defendant in the high profile dynamiting case pleads guilty, bringing the trial to a sudden close. Prosecutors hailed the resolution as delivering accountability after a lengthy investigation and court proceedings.
In Los Angeles on December 2, James B. McNamara pleaded guilty to murder by dynamiting the Los Angeles Times building and John J. McNamara admitted accessory to dynamiting the Llewellyn Iron Works. Judge Bordwell set sentencing for December 5.

The McNamara brothers James B. and John J., officers in the International Bridge and Structural Iron Workers' Association, were arrested and await trial in Los Angeles for the October 1, 1910 bombing of the Los Angeles Times building. The blast at Broadway and First Street used time clock bombs and disabled the paper during its early edition.
A massive blast wrecked a building, collapsing walls and floors while flames swept the debris. Firemen recovered twenty-one victims, many union men with families, killed or burned.
