Finland Three Get Life For Dreher Killing Mercy Shown
Three transients Francis Welsh 32 William Cooper 21 and Fred Ustenreiderm 18 were given life terms after pleading guilty to the July Des Moines murder of Harold J. Dreher 43 Mason City salesman. District Judge Lou Ladd noted their guilt in first degree murder and accepted mercy pleas as the Polk County attorney urged only a just sentence. Dreher was robbed shot and left on a Des Moines street with his car abandoned in Council Bluffs.

John Coulter Called Into Active Army Service
John Coulter head of gymnasium and swimming at the YMCA leaves tonight or Saturday for Camp Robinson near Little Rock Arkansas. Hochstetler Bound Over in Iowa City Auto Theft Case
Jacob Melvin Hochstetler of Iowa City waived preliminary hearing in a larceny of a motor vehicle charge set at a $1000 bond.
