The University of Iowa said up to 161 students with dormitory contracts will not get space. Vice President William Shanhouse reported only 154 dormitory spaces remain for 315 students, with some residents housed in hallways and lounges awaiting allocation. Officials will contact unclaimed contract holders and fill openings quickly.
California fire crews declare containment of the 17 387 acre Soboba blaze in the San Bernardino National Forest. An arsonist sparked the fire on the Soboba Indian Reservation, with a 500 dollar reward offered.
