Atlantic City August 29. Charles R Roberts a Baltimore club man was shot by a masked man while riding in a chair on the boardwalk. His companion was Baltimore society woman Mrs W S Williams. Police hunt W S G Williams blamed for the shooting amid questions if it was a hold up or a high society scandal. Williams was reportedly in Europe then Baltimore. motive remains unclear.

Simple burial services for Colonel William F B Vilas were held at his Madison home at 4 p m with semi public attendance.
