Washington reports that Washington insiders foresee a coordinated money policy to boost purchasing power and predict Congress will likely approve compulsory inflation at the next session if price levels and power grow similarly to today. Observers note the last session avoided inflating via administration compromise.

Elmer McPadden posted team batting and fielding totals for the eight teams, with individual player stats withheld.

R L Lytle of Washington may serve as county chairman for the NRA organization. A county meeting presided by the mayor outlined town officers and local committees. Mrs. Howard G. Richardson was named county chairwoman for the NRA women’s work. a county meeting is set and women volunteers are urged to attend at 2 30 p m Wednesday at Richardson’s home.
The fresh air children who have spent the summer in Rock Island will return to Chicago next Tuesday August 29. They must be at the Rock Island depot by 1 52 p m to catch the train. Baggage will be mailed to their homes and each child should bring lunch for the trip. The chaperone is visiting Richland and Helen Hlich will accompany the group back to Chicago.

Samuel Insull, once head of a major American utilities empire, was arrested in Athens at the request of the U S government. He fled Europe over a year ago with his business in trouble and faced charges of violation of federal bankruptcy laws. He may be detained up to 30 days unless the U S produces formal extradition authority.
Report from Camp Dodge states Troop F of Washington wins the Findley trophy again. The annual cup donated by Gen Park A Findley is awarded to the best recorded troop in the 113th Cavalry along a designated line. Last year Captain Jay Brown's troop was named best turned out in the regiment after inspection by regular army officers.
Crawfordsville mourns the sudden death of T Hi Jones aged about 70 who collapsed from heart trouble in his yard near Cambrain cemetery on the Old White Way. He is survived by his wife Jennie Evans before marriage and by two children Margaret Hinderman of Wapello and Ridell Jones. also several daughters from Ainsworth area.
Washington booster group organizes a caravan to the Iowa State Fair next Wednesday. The Washington Municipal Band reportedly refused to perform and cars will carry red white and blue NEA insignia.
