Traverse City Michigan August 25 A lineman Duncan McLachan climbed a forty foot pole to quit the job after saying he would not climb further Moments after he picked four leaf clover and found a five leafs he appeared uneasy then touched a live wire and was killed instantly His fellow workers struggled to release the body as it fell from the pole to the ground.

Berkeley August 25 Professor Merriam head of the paleontology department at the University of California announces a bulletin on a hitherto unknown saber tooth tiger type from California fossil beds. The collection includes two new carnivores. one is a new canid genus hygaenogmathus and the other a large saber tooth tiger variant known from a single mandible near Temblor Range at Asphalto Kern county. All specimens show a gypsum film coating.
