Bandits hold up St. Paul train near Chicago surrounded by police
In a Deerfield incident near Des Plaines River Chicago reports bandits who robbed a St. Paul train are cornered by city police with Winchesters. Detective McGrath of the Northwestern Co was shot and mortally wounded, marking a second murder by the same gang. The robbers Will Lake and H F Gordon were captured after a 100 shot exchange. a mob attempted lynching but was stopped.
