Berlin August 13 a four engine American C 54 cargo plane carrying supplies for blockaded Berlin crashed and burned while landing at Tempelhof Operations officers said the crew escaped before the flames The plane was the third American craft to crash since the Berlin airlift began on June 23 Five Americans were killed in two earlier crashes The pilot Capt George Adams overshot the landing and hit the fence.
