Roy Wells Barn Burned to Ground
A fast moving morning fire destroyed the Roy Wells hay barn eight miles west of town. About thirty tons of hay plus a binder two corn plows and other equipment and harness were consumed. There were no livestock in the barn. Loss partly covered by Washington County Farmers Mutual insurance. Lightning caused other minor storm damage and a heavy rainfall of 1.06 inches fell locally. Picnics for Presbyterian schools were postponed due to the storm.
