Death of Ralph W Moore 59 at Lytle grocery shocks Washington
Ralph W Moore known as Dinty died Saturday afternoon from a heart attack while at the R L Lytle grocery. He had lost both arms in a 1916 railroad accident but remained active driving and working. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 10 AM at Sherman’s funeral home with Dr F W Eastwood presiding. Burial in New Haven cemetery. He lived at 19386 West Main and was born February 18 1888 in St Joseph Missouri. He married Hazel Jones July 5 1918 and had a half brother W D Moore of St Joseph Missouri. He had farm truck gardening west of town and had been ill two years prior. He had been a railroad brakeman on the St Joseph Grand Island line before the Marysville accident.

Brighton Youth Drowns in River
Funeral services for Richard Lee Benda 16 of Brighton will be held Tuesday at Onar Hoskins funeral home. The drowning occurred about 11 30 yesterday morning along the east bank of the Skunk River north of the river bridge on the Brighton Washington highway. Benda stepped from a sandbar into a hole while fishing with Neal Ruggles 15 and Joe Snider tried to help from the opposite bank. Benda would have been a Brighton High School senior and was active in the band. He is survived by his parents a sister Evalyn and a brother Robert all of Brighton.
