Washington reports over one hundred of five hundred forty six U S colleges opened reeducation programs for disabled veterans. 28 courses range from bee culture to boiler making and photography with institutions in Chicago and across Indiana Iowa and Illinois aiding training near veterans homes.
A rail of institutions listed includes City Barbar college Des Moines University of Iowa Michigan schools such as Cass Technical Detroit Ferris Institute Big Rapids Hackley Manual Trade Muskegon McLachlan Grand Rapids Michigan Agricultural College East Lansing Michigan College of Mines Houghton Michigan State Auto Detroit Reed School of Stammering Detroit University of Michigan Western Normal Kalamazoo Wisconsin schools include Boys' Technical Milwaukee Central Continuation Oshkosh Northwest Telegraphy Eau Claire Oshkosh Oshkosh School of Engineering Milwaukee University of Wisconsin Madison Wisconsin Commercial Academy Milwaukee.
Elias Raff of Sea Cliff aged twenty six has been chosen by the Nassau county Democratic committee to oppose Col Theodore Roosevelt as assemblyman from the First district. Raff returned in May from service as a doughboy with Headquarters Company Three Hundred and Fifth Infantry in the Aisne Argonne Baccarat sectors.
Yale announces its 1919 1020 military program with Col. R B E D Hoyle, secretary of the school office at Fort Sill, taking charge of the ROTC field artillery officers course. Hoyle is a regular army West Point graduate and known to Yale officers who trained at Fort Sill during the war.
Washington report states the federal reserve board opposes new currency legislation now. Governor W I G Harding says reducing currency gradually is unnecessary and would hinder postwar liquidation as banks absorb war loans. The board urges work and savings to finance needs and debts.

St. Louis reports Gov. Frederick Gardner of Missouri had jewelry valued at 2500 dollars stolen from his Long Beach apartment. Police say the theft occurred recently and investigations are underway.

Twenty six United States submarine destroyers from the Mediterranean have arrived at Bermuda. They are the final ships of their type to return to America from wartime service. Six destroyers will depart Bermuda Tuesday to attempt a 72 hour sea record to New York.

Four people in an automobile were struck by a Chicago Burlington and Quincy train near Kewanee Alabama. Mr. and Mrs. George M. McMasters died instantly. Mr. Conda and Mire John Conda were seriously injured. Mrs Conda suffered multiple injuries and leg breakages.
