Three Bank Robbers Sentenced to Life in Vinton
In Vinton Iowa on August 7 1930 three bank bandits Carl Randel Herbert Karr and Jack Fry received life prison sentences from District Judge A B Clark after pleading guilty to the July 24 Farmers Savings Bank Walford holdup in which about 1700 was taken. Karr and Fry were arrested in Cedar Rapids and Randel was captured in Cedar Rapids after a trip to Chicago. The trio were brought to Vinton for sentencing.
