In a tight contest at Washington, Fairfield fell 8 to 9 with bases loaded and two outs late. The game featured fair play and good sportsmanship, umpired by Bell, a former Washington player, as both teams split the series with a decisive third game set for three weeks hence.

Davison will be taken to Keokuk to appear at the next federal court meeting. Also notes: Iowa Central depot fire and theft details with no clues. Henry Eicher heads to Clear Lake for a brief vacation.
