Subsidy payments for milk and cream dated April May and June 1946 are issued in the Washington County AAA office and continue through August 1 1948. Tickets must show producer name and creamery or buyer, with rates of 17 cents per pound butterfat in April and 15 cents for May June, and 60 cents per hundredweight for April and 45 cents for May June. Applications by mail are possible and evidence should be sent to Box 52 Washington Iowa.

An American Legion meeting and fish fry for Washington County will be held Thursday evening August 8 one mile west of Brighton on the south side of highway No 1 at the F. J. Wesley farm. Elizabeth Sherman, 49, received funeral services at United Presbyterian church with Dr. George Kerr presiding. A memorial service was also held at Congregational church in Spencer where she directed welfare work for about 13 years. Pallbearers included Richard McCleery Verle Gallagher Lee Holland Dunham Morrison Clarence Logan and David Livingston. Burial followed at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Hog Prices Hit Record High At Major Markets
Chicago led a nationwide surge as the Agriculture Department said hog prices set new record highs with top bids at 24 to 24.50 a hundredweight amid light receipts after July hog offerings.
