Tito Talks With Soviet Leaders in Moscow on Key Issues
Yugoslav President Tito spent about three and a half hours with Soviet leaders Brezhnev Podgorny and Kosygin in Moscow. They discussed Vietnam and the Middle East, nuclear spread, and Communist disagreements. Tito sought to gauge Soviet disapproval of Czechoslovakia liberalization and to influence the autumn world Communist summit. He backs Czechoslovakia pursuing a more independent Communist regime and opposes a summit that could condemn China and split the world Communist movement.
