U.S. Phantom Downs MIG17 in North Viet Nam Dogfight
UPI reports a U S Air Force Phantom shot down a Russian built MIG17 about 100 miles northwest of Hanoi during a dogfight. Capt. Lawrence K. Goldberg and 1st Lt. Gerald D. Hardgrave led the attack with a Sidewinder missile, downing a MIG17 as the others escaped. The tally reaches 11 MIGs shot down in North Viet Nam.

Five die in Belt Parkway multi car crash
Five youths were killed and eight injured when a car jumped a divider on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn and struck four oncoming vehicles.
