Washington County Hospital appeals for new donors to join its Walking Blood Bank. Eligible volunteers aged 21 to 55 must pass a screening for heart disease allergies hepatitis jaundice malaria and brucellosis. Blood typing via finger prick takes about five minutes and an ID card is issued. Lab hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Groups may volunteer by contacting the hospital laboratory.
