The presbytery of Iowa City elected Edwin B. Lindsey of Davenport as moderator to serve until after the fall presbytery meeting. DES MOINES April 7 A two day state wide convention for Iowa youth May 5 and 6 is planned by the Iowa Emergency Prohibition committee youth division. A downtown Des Moines parade will close the event with county floats and bands. Meetings aim to arrange quarters and meals for attendees.

Warren Matthess Dies by Self Inflicted Gunshot
Warren White Matthess of Lexington died after a gunshot in the barn at his home farm. The coroner ruled the wound self inflicted during a personal crisis. He died en route to Washington county hospital. He was born December 23, 1890, near Wellman and lived in Wellman and Lexington neighborhoods. He leaves a wife and daughter.
