Washington April 27 Wide differences emerged as the House agricultural committee aired three plans to relieve farmers from surplus crop burdens. The Tincher proposal backed by Secretary Jardine calls for a 100.6 million loan fund to aid cooperative marketing and stabilize prices. The Aswell Curtis Aswell bill would create national and sectional marketing groups with 10 million dollars, offering permanent relief. Haugen urged an 875 million revolving fund to stabilize basic commodity prices and would defer the equalization fee for two years while funding the board from the revolving fund.

W L McClelland, 79, a former Washington man, died suddenly in Long Beach California. He had lived in California after retiring from the Gazette years ago and is survived by his widow Mrs Louise McClelland of this city and one sister in Georgia. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2 PM at Comer and Company Chapel with burial in Inglewood Cemetery.

Carload of Liquor Shipped From Canada to Chicago
A carload of beer totaling 34 400 bottles was found in Chicago railroad yards. Six men from Chicago were arrested after driving to the car in two trucks to haul away the liquor. The beer was shipped from Canada in a Chicago lumber car that alerted police when barrels of liquor were discovered beneath lumber. Officers suspect the shippers planned to unload without the lumber company’s knowledge.
