Cash Grocers advertises Chase & Sanborn coffees winners of the World Fair and Minnesota and Kansas flour guaranteed in every sack. Teas are low priced and a wide range of canned and dried fruits is stocked.
A scrambled price list shows flour costs surging with other staples. Items include persack flour at 110 per oe and various brands like Cream of the West and Diamond noted for quality, plus Butterfs and Oolong Tea, Navy Beans, rolled oats, and raisins priced per pound or per unit.
Local items include Charley King visiting West Chester and Geo. M. Groendycke seen in Grace Hill. Miss Wade Williams visits Sigourney. Rev. N. B. Rairden sails to Omaha. Mount Patterson coupon offer. The city council allies with Moorehead & Co to number houses and sign streets to complete the system. Citizens are urged to aid the work. a 26 cent number buys a City Directory showing each resident. A free post, telephone system, or both are hoped soon, and numbered homes will receive a free directory copy at the Journal office.
