Four Washington High School students spent a day in wheelchairs to understand handicapped life. They faced narrow aisles, tall lab tables, stairs, inaccessible restrooms, and locker access, learning empathy and the daily challenges firsthand.

Washington County Hospital MOB to be reviewed May 1
The Washington County Hospital Medical Office Building faces approval by the Hoover Health Council project review committee on May 1 at 7 15 pm in the Oakdale Conference room in Oakdale Iowa. The eight doctor facility will join the County Hospital complex subject to regional health council oversight. Cornerstone ceremonies for the United Presbyterian Home health care unit are planned for May 2 with a public ceremony to follow.

The Kidney Foundation of Iowa appointed Mrs. Carolyn Levy of 903 North Iowa Avenue Washington as Gift of Life Chairman for Washington County.
