DES MOINES UP I The House retains a provision banning public nudity in taverns as part of a town criminal code rewrite. The vote was 51 to 42 with exceptions for theaters and concert halls. Debates centered on whether a state standard is needed to curb nudity as dancing moves into rural areas. A separate amendment to permit local nudity was rejected. The chamber finished most amendments and prepared for a final vote on the bill, with leaders signaling a possible late day decision.
