J L Benjamin of Algona Iowa, convicted of second degree murder for killing his wife with a hammer in January 1921, died of a heart attack after a recent operation at the prison hospital. He was fifty three and served as church organist and band master. His burial took place in the prison cemetery in Fort Madison Iowa.
