William Long longtime Washington blacksmith died yesterday at his daughter Mrs. Will Sims home in Coffeyville Kansas from heart complications after pneumonia. Sons Wisie and John Long traveled to Coffeyville for the funeral as he had been moved from Independence for better care. He had lived away from Washington for about twenty years, learned the trade from his father John Long, and is survived by sons Ben Bob Ned and daughter Mrs. William Long with brothers Cal and John also blacksmiths in California and Illinois.
