Laos asks U S to train Laotian army with MAAC aid

NFO Ends Livestock Holding Action As Markets Open

The National Farmers Organization ended its 12 state holding action today at market opening. President Oren Lee Staley said the test action was successful and will serve as a springboard for further organization plans. The action began April 3 with members urged not to sell cattle hogs and sheep to push prices up to set minimum levels for survival.

Death of Jason Glen Boller at Kalona Farm

Jason Glen Boller died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at his Kalona area farm home. He was born May 15, 1892 and married Emma Miller in 1913. Funeral services are set for 2 pm Thursday at East Union Mennonite Church with two officiants. He is survived by his widow, a daughter Mrs Joe N Kauffman, a son Martin, a brother Willard, five grandchildren, and a sister Mrs Alva Miller.

Cancer Crusade Kickoff Meeting in Washington

The annual Cancer Crusade kickoff was held in the Farm Bureau Building Washington Tuesday evening with many volunteers present. The drive runs from Monday April 17 to May 1 and aims to contact every Washington home for cancer fund donations. Mrs. Robert Grubb leads the city effort with ward chairmen Mrs. Dale Sheetz Mrs. Robert Dunbar and Mrs. Hubert Wilson Jr. County chairman Dwight Bode spoke on fund use for patient care and research, and a Horizons of Hope film was shown by Mrs. LeRoy McGraw.
