Young contestants honored in city ad contest results

E C Carris & Co awarded two prizes for best and next best ads from twenty submissions by youths under 15. Winners were Doll Buckley and Thomas Motts. The paper lists competing youths with names ages and scattered initials amid a period of celebratory notes and thanks from Carris. Separately a wedding report notes the marriage of Dr George Henderson to Miss Clara Delong at West Chester with family present.

Park officials weigh plans for park cleanup and debt relief

Lent ends as Park Commissioners and council consider carting brie out of the park and covering a trench while Rev. H A Risser begins a year of study at the state university St Paul and preaches at Olivet Church in Merriam Park. The Franklin Brighton church is debt free this year with 27 new members and Mrs Eva McConnaughy Risser leading the ladies missionary society.

Insane Man Adjudged In Riverside Settlement

Yesterday Linus Mellree aged about sixty was declared insane and ordered to Mt Pleasant Asylum. He allegedly tried to set his son in law’s house on fire twice the night before. Boler, his son in law, long principal of Riverside schools, edits the Riverside Leader.

Spiteful Vandalism Wrecks Local Horse Harness and Buggy

Lewis Dayton of Dayton reports damage to his property last night a fine harness cut into pieces and the buggy top slashed. Suspicion falls on unknown assailants, with hope for quick justice. Dastardly act has no excuse.

Fair tonight and Thursday with warmer temperatures noted. Lyman Bunce visited Brighton today. License to wed granted to J. W. Miller and Johanna Ehlers at the clerk's office. Clerk Boyer undergoes a cleaning day. Miss Cora Porter, High School teacher, is ill. The Perry Daily Chief arrives as a 12 page edition. A jury verdict awarded R. P. Lewis $18 in a farm rent contract case. John Walker, Cincinnati native and grandson of Lizzie Anderson, is in town on business and visiting friends.
