A large crowd witnessed a tree planting ceremony by the Woman’s Relief Corps with Grand Army of the Republic members and hospital nurses. A Clara Barton elm and a W R C tulip tree were dedicated, with speeches recalling trees in history and a Bible-based talk by A R Miller.

GREAT FALLS Mont April 15 United States Senator Burton Wheeler of Montana will appear in federal court here to face charges of accepting fees for representing a client before the Interior Department and for prosecuting off lease applications. The trial follows a yearlong indictment and Senate inquiry. Wheeler contends the case is a political plot and pledges an early trial.
