Mystery surrounds 16 year old Harold Baker Bogie found dead in a gas filled room at 2920 Fair avenue. State grand jury, after hearings and a coroner's inquest, sent the matter for possible review to the next grand jury in September with no direct evidence against foster parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph A. Bogie.
New York April 15. Harry Pidgeon Iowa farmer and yachtsman received the Blue Water Medal of the Cruising Club of America for sailing around the world in a 35 foot yawl. The award, given only twice before, was accepted before 160 leading yachtsmen at the Yale Club. Pidgeon recalled sleeping on a bunk during the voyage and noted his earlier moves from Salem Iowa to California where he became a photographer.
F. P. Randall, confined at home with flu, is some better and able to sit up part of the time. He will likely return to work at West Chester next week, possibly Monday or Tuesday. Mrs. James Daniels came from West Chester to spend the day with friends.
John Smith a Ku Klux Klan leader in Herrin says he will quit as soon as he can sell his business. He plans to sue the city and county, claiming failure to protect him after his garage was attacked and seven men were killed nearby. He cites liquor raids and threats from bootleggers and says he may move to Florida.
President Calvin Coolidge canceled his engagements today due to illness and retired to the White House quarters. The White House physician Major Capal was to visit, with no definite statement issued. Officials said he was not feeling well and would rest for the day. throat trouble has troubled him for years, worsened by the cold spring weather.

Mrs. H F Steck traveled to Muscatine this morning to spend the day with Miss Lou Dunsmora, sharing a social visit and time together in the Iowa city.
In Des Moines on April 15 delegates of the Democratic party met to plan campaign strategy and slate for congressional and state offices. Senator Steck, returning from Washington, will attend, with focus on a possible Democratic senator. The conference opens at 1 PM at Hotel Fort Des Moines and is open to party members.
The Underwriters Grain association paid Trans Mississipp Drain company 328,878.84 for loss in the February 19 elevator fire in Council Bluffs. There remains 72,000 on the grain and 500,000 to 600,000 on building insurance. John C. Lutz of Council Bluffs delivered the check, the largest fire loss paid in the city and likely the state.
The Rock Island main line near Newton Iowa resumed traffic after workers cleared wreckage left by sixteen freight cars derailed on No 97 two miles west of Newton. No injuries reported and timetable resumed this morning.
A bill to implement Secretary Jardine's farm relief proposals, including a federal farm board and a revolving fund, will seek about 500 million dollars for extending loans to farmers cooperatives. Representative Tincher will push the measure before the House Agriculture Committee, with Secretary Jardine to testify. The plan uses the corn belt bill as a basis but stops short of committing to specific features.

St Peters burg Florida April 15 American team captain Walter Hagen announced via cable from Britain that a planned international professional match may be held at Glen Eagles Scotland. The American squad includes MacDonald Smith Al Watrous Gene Sarazen Leo Diegel and others with Hagen and possibly two more. The British team would be sent next summer with a possible stop at the British championship at Lytham.
Funeral services were held at 3 p m yesterday at the South Marion avenue residence for James A Sowash. Rev J Reade McCrory of Washington and Rev E C Coleman of Keota officiated with pallbearers D C Kilgore David Donaldson Charles Corrette Dr J C Boice Sam Pulver and Jake Lemley. Burial followed in Elm Grove cemetery.
