Mrs. J. P. Jones Dies In Sac City Iowa
Mrs. J. P. Jones 68 died after a lingering illness in Sac City. A Crawfordsville native, she taught in Columbus Junction schools, married banker J. P. Jones in 1911, and lived in Lake Crystal Irwin Crawfordsville and Sac City. Surviving sons Vernon and Russell, granddaughter, a brother Morgan Williams and sister Margaret Humphreys. Fire Blast Destroys Duplex Home in Knoxville Iowa
J C Brubaker and his wife were injured when an explosion and fire destroyed their one story duplex in Knoxville Iowa. Both were hospitalized with cuts and bruises. Brubaker also had a possible concussion. Their son J C Brubaker Jr. helped push his mother to safety as flames raged and boards cracked. The other half of the duplex was unoccupied.

Iowa man held on murder charge in Chicago double slaying
