A Wednesday night blaze at Curtis Bros. ad Co millwork manufacturers caused damage possibly totaling 50 600. Firemen battled for six hours, the flames fed by paints oils and finishing materials, in a stubborn blaze at the Iowa plant.
Union-John Roth Meier reports a full grown deer seen at work three miles northeast of Eldorado. The animal leaped into a ditch about 100 feet away and fled when discovered by the men. It is the first deer spotted in the area for many years.
Nashua truck driver Paul Rauach Nashua was fined $50 by Justice of the Peace F. Sherwood after overloading his truck with horses while hauling for Harvey Shannon of Nashua.
Buckingham R. M. Gunn delivered 10,000 bushels of shelled corn to the Farmers' elevator this week. The corn, aged two and three years, graded No. 2, bringing 82 cents per bushel.
Ten year old Todds Tow Falla Hollis Lit tschwager was killed when struck by a car driven by a high school student at Dows. His skull was fractured in the accident reported by friends.
