April 30 is the last day to file applications for wool and lamb payments for the 1962 marketing year. County Committee Chairman ard Lins urged growers to submit complete applications with sales records. Payments will be based on the 1962 price and will be issued after national averages are calculated. The 1963 year will run April 1 to December 31, 1963, then switch to a calendar year basis for future payments.
Funeral services for Mrs Roy Kuntz were conducted Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev W J Stevens and Rev William Arnold officiating. Mrs Don Curtis and Mrs Walter Rich sang a duet. Pallbearers included Richard Chorpening Russell Chorpening Atlin Reschly David Kuntz Wilbur Hysell and Teuman Hysell. Burial followed in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mid-Prairie High School students showcased eight science projects at the fourth annual Eastern Town Science Fair held at Coe College Field House in Cedar Rapids on April 6 and 7. Volunteers led tours to Collins Research Development and Data System and Mercy Hospital Radiation Center as 14 projects across Physical and Biological Divisions were judged, yielding Class I winners and a trip to Albuquerque's National Science Fair.
