Five masked robbers robbed the Security State Bank in Sterling Colorado of about 25000 dollars. They kidnapped three bank employees and fled in a black sedan toward the Nebraska state line. They released the hostages near Holyoke and continued east with posses in pursuit.
A Cabot farmer unearthed a Spanish coin dated 1827 stamped Carlos T the third and gave it to C F Davis in town after merchants refused to accept it. Davis notes the piece is quite valuable and considers its historical worth.
