Forger Operative From Story City Sentenced At Charles City
Sheriff Putnam says a man named Robert Henderson from Story City Iowa admitted passing about 40 forged checks in Iowa. He received a ten year penitentiary term yesterday at Charles City. The man matched a description of a forger who cashed a forged $16 check at Nicola Marmon in Washington on March 25 for roller skates and also cashed another forged check in Mt Pleasant the same day. The instrument drawn on Crawfordsville bank was payable to M Cedarburg with signature of Jamison Bros Transfer and Cedarburg endorsement. He said a partner, possibly his brother, supplied the checks and went to California.
