Eddie Costigan testified in Superior Court that Edith married again in 1942 after her brother Howard Smith moved in as a boarder. Smith stayed for ten years before Costigan learned he was Ediths first husband, leading to a divorce grant.

The three act comedy follows Jeb Prady and his granddaughter with Mrs. Van Sneerington and her son who lisps while Professor Boomer Barnsmeller undertakes a secret mission. Activities include an Old Fashioned school segment and a TV talent show with a king and queen contest for children under four. Superintendent Barnum and other officials assist.
Anton Harrup, 55, of Bedford was killed and two others seriously injured in a three car pileup on Highway 2, about a mile and a half east of Clarinda. Oscar Jamison, 70, Princeton Missouri, and Edward Williams, 24, Mason City, were injured. Jamison’s car crossed into Harrup’s lane, and a third car driven by Jack Walker of Burlington struck the wreck. Walker was uninjured.
