Turko-German forces retreated about 30 miles from Batum and 20 miles east of the Erzerum border area. Erzerum lies 110 miles south of Batum with Tere Tira Rare about 10 miles east of Erzerum, near the Turkish boundary.
Lieuts. Carl K. Ekstrand of Brooklyn New York and Russell H. Evigeines of Waynetown Indiana were killed in an aviation accident at Ellington Field Houston Texas. They were in the same aircraft.
