Police inspector said Robert H. Cooper a Brooklyn produce merchant confessed he staged a fake robbery to gain sympathy from creditors. He was found bound and gagged on a railroad track and admitted tearing his clothes scratching himself and lying beside the tracks.
Stockholm reports the Swedish government has introduced a bill granting women the right to vote and stand for election on par with men. Exclusions apply to women whose husbands have not paid taxes for three years.
Adolphe Reinach son of Joseph Reinach and Marguerite Dreyfus daughter of Mathew Dreyfus, two principals in the Dreyfus affair, plan a June wedding at the Paris Jewish synagogue. They met during the Dreyfus years while supporting the officer.

Miss Jane Addams called the first Illinois convention of women for good roads to order in the Auditorium Hotel Chicago. Nearly a thousand delegates from women's clubs across the state respond to the roll call as the event continues with addresses from club delegates. Mrs Minnie Star Granger presides and Mrs Ella Flagg Young conducts the closing session.
