Edward Gingerich Wellman, 61, died Wednesday night in DeQueen Arkansas where he had lived the past 16 years. He formerly worked at the Maplecrest plant in Wellman for many years. The body will be returned to town for burial with funeral arrangements undecided today.

Birdie Tebbetts, manager of the Cleveland Indians, suffered a heart attack Wednesday night in Tuscon. General Manager Gabe Paul said third base coach George Strickland would manage until a decision is made. Tebbetts was reported in satisfactory condition at St Mary's Hospital after playing golf and dining with the team at the Highway House Hotel.

Two Car Collision on East Washington Causes Minor Damage
A two car crash occurred Wednesday at 4 55 p m in the 400 block of East Washington. Charles Owen Brown of Wellman and John Bernard Mulcahy of 1026 North Iowa Washington were involved. Brown drove east in the inside lane and turned right into a driveway colliding with Mulcahy in the outside lane. No injuries were reported. Damage totaled 15 to Browns car and 150 to Mulcahys. Brown was charged with an improper right turn and fined 5 by Justice of the Peace Glenn Holden.
