Funeral services for Mrs James T Green of Washington will be held at 4 30 Thursday at the Presbyterian church in Washington with Dr F W Eastwood in charge. Interment will be Elm Grove cemetery. She was born January 15 1906 at Washington daughter of Sherm and Welch and married James Theron Green August 2 1931 at Aledo Illinois. She leaves husband a son James Jordon Green and her parents sister and brother. She was a member of the Washington Presbyterian church.

Des Moines Couple Escape Serious Injury In Night Road Crash
Mrs. Jay Coughlan of Des Moines and her husband narrowly escaped serious injury when their car went off a high embankment on Route 161 north of Ainsworth. They crawled out with minor scratches while the vehicle sustained only minor damage. Damages were repairable by Monday. They were guests of Mr and Mrs Carleton Haven in Washington on Sunday night. Mr Coughlan works for Northwestern Bell in Des Moines. The accident occurred about 6 20 pm in rainy conditions as passersby were reluctant to stop and offer help.

Visitors from Iowa City Here During July Fourth Tour
Twenty five Iowa City business men rode in twenty five cars into Washington Tuesday afternoon. They stopped in Central Park where a twelve piece band performed and Mrs Ferge Bane played piano accordion. The group then traveled toward Kalona and Wellman after a day spent promoting Iowa Citys July 4 celebration. The event in Iowa City will feature a carnival family picnics a sports program with child races band concerts and a fireworks display. Profits from the celebration will go to benefit the unemployed via the American Legion relief association.

Miss Kate Bostedo died shortly after noon Wednesday. Private funeral services were held Friday at 3:00 PM at the home of her sister Mrs J J McConnell north of Ainsworth with Rev H F McAllister in charge. Interment was in Ainsworth cemetery. She was a graduate of Atlantic High School 1891 and studied at the Chicago Conservatory of Music. Surviving sisters include Mrs Hugh Waddell Colville Washington and Mrs G A Wauchope Columbia SC plus Mrs J J McConnell of Ainsworth.

Cephas Dodd Dies After Long Illness in Iowa
Funeral services for Cephas Dodd who died after a week long illness were held at Sherman's funeral home. He was born December 2 1846 in Amity Pennsylvania and married Elizabeth Ames in 1875. The couple would have marked their 57th wedding anniversary July 6 and they had seven children. He moved from Pennsylvania to Washington County Iowa in 1882 and worked for Rock Island then ran a dray business retiring seven years ago. He is survived by his seven children.

Ezra W. Chrissinger, 87, died at Washington County Hospital about 1 am Tuesday after years of declining health. Born in Ohio on March 7, 1845, he served briefly in the Civil War era, settled near Winfield, married Mary Warren in 1899, and lived on a farm southeast of town before moving to 217 West Tyler Street. Funeral held at 2:30 pm Wednesday at Sherman’s Funeral Home with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. He was a G A R member. Daughters of Veterans and W R C attended.
