Former Resident Killed in Chicago Crossing Work
Lewis Stafford McKay, 55, born in Washington, died Saturday when struck by a train while working as a crossing flagman for the Rock Island in Chicago. Funeral and burial will be in Chicago. McKay lived in Chicago about twelve years and had 50 to 35 years of service with the Rock Island. He married Alma Jehring in Davenport. two sons Mari and Marion reside there. He left a wife who died in 1922. Additional surviving relatives include two brothers Frank and J C McKay in the Washington area. two sisters Grace and Elsa are deceased.

Funeral Service for Chas Sims in Riverside
Funeral services for Charles William Sims were held at the Riverside Methodist church with Rev. Stuart C. Peterson in charge. Sims died from double pneumonia after a fall from a Rock Island work train near Washburn and was 57. He is survived by Grace, son Erskin, four grandchildren and four brothers, with Masonic rites at Riverside cemetery.

Riverside Woman 94 Dies After Fall
Mrs. Charles Droll aged 94 and the oldest Riverside resident died Sunday afternoon at the Knittel home after a fall on May 29 that fractured her hip. Born Mary Magdaleen Birrer in 1844 in Alsace Lorraine, she came to America at age one and lived in Riverside 93 years. She married twice, had twelve children, and survived by seven children, 39 grandchildren and 81 great grandchildren. Funeral at St. Mary’s Church in Riverside with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Raymond Sehantz 30, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Sehantz, was found dead Thursday morning at the pipeline plant in Pleasant Hill. Born in Wayland, he lived in the community, graduated from Wayland High School and Chillicothe Business College, and recently moved with his family from Truro, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Alice Beckman, a daughter Joanne Ray, his parents, and a brother. The funeral for Mrs. Ray Roth is set for Friday at 2 PM at the Ben Eicher home in Cedar Rapids with interment in North Hill cemetery.
