Rev. Charles Goltry pastor of the Brighton Methodist church died at 4 30 p m at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines after a week there. Services will be held at 10 a m Sunday at the Brighton church and at 2 p m in Russell Iowa where he was raised. Burial will be at Russell. He was about 60 and survived by his wife Nellie Matheny Goltry. A sister died two weeks ago and was buried at Russell. He had served as pastor in Iowa and Oklahoma for many years.

Farm Garage and Contents Burned at Anderson Farm
A small five and a half mile from town garage at Walter A Andersons farm burned along with contents on Wednesday evening. Seven hens hatched by Mrs Anderson died and some oil fed there burned. Insurance covered the loss. Farmers Mutual Fire Company responded but could not save the building. Firemen saved nearby granary and prevented spread to adjacent structures. This follows a larger fire at the same farm two weeks earlier.

Gingerich Plans New Maple Crest Plant and Expansion
Gingerich head of the Maple Crest turkey packing plant and hatchery announces a new packing plant larger than the present facility. The project includes 15 000 square feet of floor space across a 195 by 129 foot plot opposite the current plant on primary road No 8 1 entering Wellman from the south. Foundations start soon with completion expected by mid August to support up to four carloads of dressed turkeys daily and 225 workers in peak season, plus 25 to 30 construction jobs.

John Pressley Gamble died at the county hospital after a week of critical illness. He is survived by his wife Mabel Grace Carr and two children Clara and John Jr. The funeral is set for Thursday at 2 o clock at the Baptist Church with burial in Elm Grove cemetery. The deceased was born May 11 in Fort Madison and was 45 days widowed from June who died recently.

From Denver came news that the sister of Carl R. McCutchen had fallen gravely ill and the family rushed to her side. She grew better at times, but a serious operation was anticipated and she later died, leaving four brothers Allen Richard Earl and Edward at home and her parents Mr and Mrs Carl R McCutchen in sorrow.
