Fire Damage at State Theater After Warehouse Blaze
A storage room fire at the State theater caused less than 1500 in damage and was controlled in half an hour. About 100 to 150 people were in the auditorium at discovery time and 600 later for a dancing show, with no injuries. The blaze began in a waste paper box in the corner of the storeroom above the office, and was contained with only smoke and water damage to the building.

A regimental reunion of the old 650th Iowa Infantry volunteers from the Spanish American War will be held in Burlington during the state encampment of the USWV, June 18 to 20. A Saturday burglary at Dr. W. Dwyer’s dental office on the north side of the square netted about $2.50 in coins. Entry is believed to have been gained from the waiting room with a skeleton key. Earlier Saturday, Dr. H C Hull’s office was entered with traces left but no theft observed.

Ministers Plan Union Park Services This Summer
A Washington ministerial association vote schedules union Sunday evening services in Central Park for July and August. Churches including Methodist United Presbyterian Baptist Christian and St Pauls Evangelical will participate with one minister preaching each week starting July 2. Ora Henderson Services Held
Funeral services for Miss Ora Henderson were held Monday afternoon at Shermans funeral home. Rev. William M. Nichol of the United Presbyterian church officiated. Burial took place in Ainsworth cemetery. Born November 11, 1871 in Ainsworth, she was the daughter of James and Martha Henderson and spent most of her life in the Ainsworth area, later living in Washington and Omaha to care for her sister. Several nieces and nephews survive.

Fire destroys Warren Bishop farm home near Lexington
A fire at the Warren Bishop farm home twelve miles northwest of Washington destroyed the house and a summer kitchen late Wednesday afternoon around 5 o'clock. Fire started in the summer kitchen possibly from an oil stove explosion. The family saved most belongings with help from neighbors and the Washington Farmers Mutual fire department, preventing spread to a nearby house. The Bishops’ son Junior Bishop had just been brought from the county hospital to the Albert Paul home nearby.
