John Greiner 70 Dies After Year and a Half Illness
John Greiner aged 70 long resident of Keota and Washington died at 609 South Marion Avenue after a lingering illness. He was born near Keota in 1866 and lived in Clear Creek before moving to Washington in 1920. Surviving children include Mrs. John Flading, Albert Greiner, John H. Greiner, Mrs. Alvina Rovd, and Richard Greiner with 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral at St James Church, Keota burial in St Marys cemetery.

Muscatine resident Muscatine Norman G. Baker owner of a cancer clinic must serve one day in jail and pay a $50 fine for contempt of court ordered by the Iowa Supreme Court. He was cited for practicing medicine without a license in Iowa and is now reported to be in Mexico where he operates a radio station.

Sioux City reports Helen Pazawich, 24, Morningside College graduate and Alpha Sigma sorority president, died by inhaling gas one month after her mother ended her life in the same manner. Mist Pazawich taught school at Hrongon until her mother’s death. She graduated from Morningside College in June 1935.

New Hampton dep ot cashier Sam Schlappi and Elmer Koenig tower operator said they knew five minutes before the collision that the passenger and freight trains would meet at Fredericksburg. Conductor Joe Murray called the dispatcher and learned the passenger had just gone through, setting up the crash.

Two Sigourney Men Injured in Auto Crash
Two Sigourney residents, C. M. Wyllie and William Jacobs, were injured when Wyllie’s car collided with a southbound vehicle near the Highland Center schoolhouse on primary and No. 1 road. Wyllie, a Sigourney attorney and former mayor, is in county hospital. Jacobs is in county jail. Authorities found liquor and near beer in the Wyllie car.
