Solo Parts Announced for Messiah by Local Union Choir

Kuhn Funeral Held Tuesday
Funeral services for John Isaiah Kuhn were held at the Christian church at two o clock Tuesday afternoon. He died at 4 40 Saturday, after a week of illness, from heart trouble. Burial was at Elm Grove cemetery. He was born September 29 1858 in Worcester Ohio and lived in Verdi Havre and Washington before his death. He is survived by two daughters, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother Edd Kuhn of Harlingen Texas and two sisters in Ohio. He was a member of the Christian church and remembered as a kind neighbor father.

An elderly resident, Frank We'te, about 70, was badly hurt in an accidental fall in his home barnyard in Richmond. He was carrying a shovel full of coal when he fell around 8 30 this morning and was taken to Washington county hospital with possible lip fracture.

Former Ainsworth Minister Is Dead
The death of Rev. A. F. Bailey, United Presbyterian pastor at Ainsworth from 1909 to 1910, was announced. He served on the school board here and died November 22 in Peoria's Methodist Hospital while serving as pastor at Sparlin, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, two daughters Marian and Lois, and two sons Fleming and Ewing. Ewing is a missionary in Egypt.

William L. Eichelberger, 67, lifelong area resident, died suddenly Tuesday at 2:20 AM at his home 614 North Long Avenue from a stroke. He previously suffered a stroke three years earlier and had lived in California for seven years before returning. Surviving are his widow, his father D. J. Eichelberger, a sister Mrs. Besse Fore, and his daughter Mrs. Beulah Damynck of Okee Wisconsin. Funeral services Friday at 2:20 PM at L. A. Washington county conducted its annual delinquent tax sale at the auditor’s office. The county bid in 221 parcels advertised for three years, with a one year redemption period for owners. Dolies Funeral Wednesday at 3
The funeral of Frank J. Dolies was held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at L. A. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. RF Schwartz officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery. Dolies died after a prolonged illness, suffering a stroke in May 1923, after living in Washington for 50 years and operating a carriage factory at 822 North Iowa Avenue. He was born December 24, 1861 in Iowa City and married Annie Selement in 1888. Children Fred W. of Peoria, Charles H. of Long Beach, Mrs Don Witking of Moville, and a barber Tom of Iowa City survive.

Washington approves truck weight limits for new streets
At a regular city council meeting Washington imposes weight limits on vehicles using newly surfaced streets. The ordinance sets caps of 2.5 tons for pneumatic tired wheels, 2 tons for hard rubber or similar wheels, and 1.5 tons for small four inch rim wheels, with spikes banned. Fines up to 100 dollars or 30 days in jail may be imposed. A separate barber shop regulation proposal failed 4 to 2.
