Funeral for George Drish Held in Pleasant Plain
Brighton July 30 funeral services for George Drish who died Monday at the family home will be held Wednesday morning at the Catholic church in Pleasant Plain. He was 58 and survived by his wife eight children a brother Joe in Brighton three sisters and several step relatives. He lived his life in this community.

John Gardner a Tennessee native aged 89 90 next fall died at 2 25 July 26 after a brief illness mainly from old age. He was born Oct 30 1845 in Blount County Tenn married Esther Ferguson in 1868 she died twenty years ago. They lived in the Crawfordsville area since 1882 later moving to the Ainsworth community. Surviving children are William Eldon George and Andy and daughter Mrs O K Babb. Funeral services were held at L A Jones funeral home and burial was at Ainsworth cemetery.

Lightning Strikes Cavalry Barn Near Town
Captain Jay Brown of Troop F reported a Sunday night lightning strike hit the stable just south of town during a storm. Damage was about 25 dollars with no fire. horses were in pasture and unharmed. The 850 foot barn took a bolt through a north window. Lightning also struck a large tree near the lone No 4 fairway, bark stripped and an even wound formed, but officials believe the tree can be saved.
