Motor Cycle Routs Crowd at Ashland Fair Accident

A motorcycle driven by Seestrom jumped the track at the Ashland county fair last Thursday afternoon, injuring the little son of Mr and Mrs H D Ewer of Ashland, a lady, and the rider. A punctured tire caused a long turn. a ladder in the grass worsened the crash. The Ewer boy sustained a fractured skull and was taken to Ashland hospital where he remained comatose before showing signs of recovery.

Bayfield County Licenses Reach One Thousand For Hunters

Bayfield County license clerks issue licenses to hunters at about fifty per day. Nels M. Oscar reports over one thousand licenses issued so far, with plans to surpass last year’s record. Grouse and chicken seasons opened, partridge and deer seasons follow later. many visitors come to Bayfield for hunting. Dr. F G Prey has a new card in this issue.

Young couple wed at St Louis Catholic Church

Miss Irene Ada LeBlanc and Mr. Thomas Taraldson of Minneapolis wed in a six oclock ceremony at St Louis Catholic church. Father Beaudette officiated. Bridesmaid Miss Ada LeBlanc and best man Earl LeBlanc. A breakfast followed at the LeBlanc home and the couple planned a Duluth honeymoon before settling in Minneapolis.

Willow River Lumber mill destroyed by fire at New Richmond

The Willow River Lumber company saw mill at New Richmond burned last week causing a loss exceeding 75000 dollars. Insurance fully covers the loss. The mill was a total loss and the company plans no rebuild, while owning timber lands in Bayfield and Ashland counties.

Steel Trust Takes Option on Boyle Lands Near Chequamegon Bay

Rumor swirls as a steel company representative reportedly took an option on about sixty acres of Boyle lands two miles south of the city along Chequamegon Bay. The property fronts deep water suitable for docks and sits on the Ashland Bayfield road. The Times verified the inquiry with the local dynamite plant, confirming a visitor with a steel corporation card was there last week.
