A touring car owned by Dr. Mahoney of Ashland rolled four times down Salmo hill near Bayfield Monday afternoon. All occupants were injured except Victor Prothero. Lee Mahoney received a fractured skull and was operated on. his condition was described as very serious. Mrs Dan Mahoney suffered an injured spine. Jack Mahoney was cut and bruised. PA Berthiome had a broken arm. Ed Bent hame was driving and reportedly lost control after a gas issue.

Car teeters after near miss with fleeing child
An auto from Ashland swerved to avoid a child stepping into the road near Nash depot causing the car to topple into a ditch. Four occupants escaped injury though a six year old was cut and bruised. the mother left with the children and no names recorded.

Alfred M. Warden, La Follette Blaine endorsed, won the assembly nomination Tuesday over Frank W. Downs and Clifton W. Smith, who split the opposing vote. Downs carried little in Washburn where La Follette supporters led, while Bayfield and Russell boosted Smith. Amos M. Hansen won Bayfield county coroner over Edwin Bratley by 1687 to 988.
