Sauk County adopts county road plan and elects highway commissioner
J T Donaghey elected County Highway Commissioner in Sauk County where roads are built entirely by county forces using county owned machinery. The program, started in 1909, uses two mottoes and surveys by the State Highway Department. Last year 5 miles were built in 8 towns. 1910 plans call for 10 miles in 15 towns. 1911 aims higher. Farmers support road improvements when results are evident. The Sauk County method is offered as a model for other counties.

Omaha Wreck Involving Engine 310 Crashes Into Box Cars
A rail accident near the Renfield and Lamoreaux box factory halted Omaha down line traffic for hours last Saturday. Engine No. 310 collided with three loaded box cars left on the main line, smashing them and scattering debris. Conductor C. F. Larson suffered a broken rib while Fireman Severson twisted an ankle and escaped injury during the jump. The engine was damaged and moved to shops for repairs.
